>I find myself envying all of the time; anything from eye color to current weather conditions is fair game. Envy is bad. That’s probably why it’s one of the seven deadly sins. Unfortunately, it is also (in my opinion) one of Satan’s most frequently used tools.

In a quiet voice he says: ‘isn’t that house over there pretty? You could have it’. The unspoken statement that follows involves the sacrifice of time spent with your family and children. That cost is so much higher than any dollar amount.

Every day, I see huge, beautiful homes sit empty because mom and dad have to work 8+ hours every day so that three people can live in a 3,000 square foot home. But do they truly live there? Do their kids play there?

It’s easy to envy what others have. But, when I follow God’s plan for my life and consider the cost that comes with the ‘good life’ I realize that life is good just the way it is.
